Storage Heater Grants 2018 from the Government's ECO Scheme

The current version of the ECO Scheme, ECO2t, is due to end in September 2018

Storage Heater Grants 2018 are available to help replace old, faulty or inefficient electric storage heaters with modern storage heaters.

This is a ‘like for like’ replacement scheme and you may qualify for a storage heater grant if you satisfy the following criteria:

  1. You live in your own home or one which you rent from a private landlord. Social housing, shared ownership and housing association properties are excluded for storage heater grants 2018.
  2. You receive certain State Benefits, Tax Credits or Guaranteed Pension Credit.
  3. You have at least one old, faulty or inefficient electric storage heater installed in your home at the time of your storage heater grant application.

ECO Grants are also available to replace faulty Oil Boilers and LPG Boilers.

Storage Heater Grants 2018

If you have old, faulty or inefficient electric night storage heaters installed in your home AND you receive on of the qualifying state benefits your should apply for a storage heater grant today whilst ECO funding is still available.

The Government has indicated that the ECO Scheme may be extended beyond it’s current expiration date of September 2018 but there is no guarantee.

In any case, whenever the ECO Scheme is changed, it is more likely that funding will be reduced.
