You may get Cavity Wall Insulation Free with a grant from the Affordable Warmth Scheme if you satisfy the following 4 conditions:

ONE. You live in your own home or one you rent from a private landlord. Different rules apply to householders in Council owned properties and Housing Association Properties.

TWO. You receive one of the following State Benefits or Tax Credits:

• Guaranteed Pension Credit (Pension Credit Savings Credit and Ordinary State Pension do not qualify)
• Child Tax Credit*
• Working Tax Credit*
• Income Support
• Universal Credit*
• Income-Related Employment & Support Allowance (ESA) or
• Income-Based Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA)

Benefits marked with * are subject to maximum household income thresholds based on the number of adults and children living in your home.

Contribution-Related Employment & Support Allowance and Contribution-Based Job Seeker’s Allowance do not count.

THREE. Your home satisfies certain criteria with regard to its type, how many bedrooms it has, how many external walls it has and what type of heating is installed.

FOUR. Your home was constructed with cavity walls but has no cavity wall insulation installed.

Everyone who qualifies for a Cavity Wall Insulation Grant with the Affordable Warmth Scheme will be entitled to CAVITY WALL INSULATION FREE and will not have to contribute to the cost of installation.

TWO. Your home satisfies certain criteria with regard to its type, how many bedrooms it has, how many external walls it has and what type of heating is installed.

THREE. Your home was constructed with cavity walls but has no cavity wall insulation installed.

Will I have to contribute to the cost of Cavity Wall Insulation in my home?

The amount of your Cavity Wall Insulation Grant under CERO depends on:

• The type of home you live in.
• How many bedrooms it has.
• How many external walls it has.
• The type of heating system installed.

Some householders will get Cavity Wall Insulation Free with a CERO Grant, others will have to contribute to the cost. CERO Cavity Wall Insulation Grants favour those properties for which the installation of Cavity wall Insulation result in a greater reduction in Carbon Emissions.

This means that grants are higher for larger properties, with a higher number of bedrooms and those which do not have gas central heating.
