Boiler Grants Scotland and Dual Measures

Government ECO Scheme Grants are available to home owners in Scotland to help replace broken mains gas central heating boilers.

In most cases you will also have to qualify for and insulation measure and have it installed at the same time as your new A rated gas boiler. Under the ECO Scheme, this is called a Dual Measure, that is, boiler + insulation.

Insulation measures which qualify with the Boiler Grants Scotland Scheme are:

• Cavity Wall Insulation – where your home has external cavity walls but has not had cavity wall insulation installed before.
• Room in Roof Insulation – this is where you have a habitable attic room which has no insulation in the roof or wall sections.
• Underfloor Insulation – If the ground floor of your home has suspended wooden floors, we can arrange for insulation to be installed under the floor.
• Internal Wall Insulation – where your home has solid external walls, (either solid stone or solid brick), we can arrange the insulation of the inside of the external walls.
• External Wall Insulation – where your home has solid external walls, (usually solid brick), we can arrange the insulation of the outside of the external walls.
• Loft Insulation – if you have less than 100 mm of loft insulation in your loft, or no insulation at all.
• Flat Roof Insulation – if part or all of your home has a flat roof, we can arrange for it to be insulated.

Boiler Grants Scotland and Dual Measures

Because part of the insulation grant will be used to pay for the installation of a replacement mains gas boiler, it is unlikely that you will be able to have a new boiler without also having one of the insulation measures listed above installed at the same time.

Boiler Grants Scotland – Areas Covered

Currently we cover all mainland areas of Scotland for the Boiler Grants Scotland Scheme. However, applicant’s in the KW, IV, AB, PH and PA post code areas may have to wait until we have number of surveys / installations in the same area to make travelling to them financially viable.
